New article from Kshitij Mor on diversity and "tolerance" for LGBTQ+ people in the workplace

Congratulations to SCOOP PhD researcher Kshitij Mor for his latest article with colleagues Seval Gündemir and Jojanneke van der Toorn. “‘Are they just putting up with me’? How diversity approaches impact LGBTQ+ employees’ sense of being tolerated at work” (published by the British Journal of Social Psychology), explores how merely being “tolerated” at work can undermine inclusion and discourage authentic contributions by LGBTQ+ people. If a workplace’s diversity approach is “identity blind” rather than “identity conscious”, minoritized individuals can be inadvertently harmed. Kshitij and his colleagues found that when organisational leaders adopt an identity-conscious approach, LGBTG+ employees' feelings of being only tolerated are significantly reduced.
