We congratulate Damion Bunders with the successful defence of his thesis 'Gigs of their Own: Can platform cooperatives become resilient?' at Erasmus Universiteit Rotterdam.
Both in his thesis and during the defence, the newly graduated doctor discussed the initial feasibility and the long-term challenges of platform cooperatives in the gig economy, exploring topics such as enterprise formation, member commitment, democratic governance, and the coordination of collective resources.
