SCOOP would like to offer our warmest congratulations to Prof. Joel Mokyr for his remarkable achievement of winning a joint-Nobel in Economics.
Prof. Mokyr, a member of SCOOP’s Advisory Board, was part of the team of researchers awarded for their work explaining how innovation drives economic growth. The Nobel committee in particular pointed to Prof. Mokyr’s ‘having identified the prerequisites for sustained growth through technological progress.’ His research has shown how technological progress and economic growth has jointly improved global living standards, health, and quality of life.
