Warmest congratulations to Dr Sofie Wiersma, SCOOP’s newest PhD graduate!
Sofie studied how leaders of different organizations shape the outcomes of job security and gender equality in the workplace, focusing on the question of how leaders’ personal career paths have an effect on who in an organization gets a permanent job and fair wages. ‘Organization leaders are important,’ Sofie writes, because they ‘act as gatekeeper to organizational resources, and with their status and visibility they can stir organizational norms and culture.’
