Dr. A. T. (Andreas) Schmidt

Andreas Schmidt is an Associate Professor of Political Philosophy at the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Groningen. Before that, he was a Post-doctoral Research Associate in Values and Public Policy at Princeton University. He received his DPhil in Philosophy from the University of Oxford.

 

He thinks and writes about political theory, ethics, and the philosophy of public policy and is particularly interested in socio-political freedom, consequentialism, distributive justice, egalitarianism, behavioural policies, public health, longtermism, and animal ethics. 

​Andreas Schmidt is also the director of the PPE Master's in Groningen and a board member of the PPE Centre in Groningen.
