Gerarda Westerhuis is assistant professor in business and economic history at Utrecht University. Her research focuses in particular on corporate governance, CEOs and boards, entrepreneurship, elites and family business. She combines theories and methodologies from social sciences applying the long term perspective of a historian. She makes use of large data sets, in-depth archival research, and interviews. She is also Board Member and chair of the Admissions Committee of the interdisciplinary bachelor program in Philosophy, Politics & Economics (PPE) at UU.
